Description:

Philosophy:
Architect Kamal Amin came across the work of Frank Lloyd Wright at the cultural center in the United States Embassy in Cairo in 1948. Fascinated by Wright’s work, he flew from Cairo to Phoenix immediately after his graduation in 1951, where he joined Wright at Taliesin near Scottsdale, Arizona. He worked with Wright during his crowning decade until Wright's death in 1959, and continued with the firm for the next 18 years. During his years at Taliesin, he became convinced that working knowledge of structural engineering would enhance his abilities as an architect. He acquired certification as an structural engineer, studying under Mendel Glickman, chairman of the Engineering Department at the University of Oklahoma.
